Teachers’ Emotion Regulation: Implications for Classroom Conflict Management

It has been postulated that emotions play essential roles in conflict situations and excessive expression of or inappropriate display can reduce the capacity to manage conflict. However, there is a lack research relates teachers’ emotion-regulation ability managing To bridge this gap, pilot study aimed examine relationships between management strategies used classroom. The sample consisted 878 teachers (61% women) working Portuguese schools, which completed an application Mayer Salovey’s emotional intelligence model Rahim’s management. Using structural equation modeling, findings revealed who tend show greater regulate use mainly integrating compromising classroom conflicts more frequently than other strategies.
